Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology

NMIT was founded in 2001 and is named for Meenakshi Hegde, the wife of Justice K.S. Hegde, the founder of the Nitte Education Trust. It is associated with VTU Belagavi and is among the youngest engineering colleges in the nation to receive the prestigious Autonomous Status from the UGC in 2007.

Additionally, NMIT is accredited with NBA (Tier-1) and NAAC "A+" Grade and Platinum Grade by AICTE-CII, and it ranks in the 151-200 Rank Band among technical institutions in India. In 2023, the NIRF, Ministry of Education, Government of India, listed NMIT in the 101-150 Rank Band under Innovation Ranking. A variety of programs are available at NMIT Bangalore, including MBA, Ph.D., MCA, B.Tech, and M.Tech. To encourage students' discipline and physical health, NMIT is among the first colleges in the nation to offer NCC as an "elective subject," which will be offered beginning in the 2013–14 academic year.

Hostel- There are around 500 girls and 1000 boys dorms at NMIT. Two hostels for girls and four for guys are available. There are rooms available for twin and triple sharing. Students can choose between non-vegetarian and vegetarian meals. In-house wardens assist in keeping the hostel in order and tend to the requirements of the students.

Medical Center- NMIT has a Medical Center with a full-time nurse on duty to handle student health care. Twice a week, a physician comes to the Medical Center. For additional medical services, NMIT has an agreement with Aveksha Hospital and Ramaiah Memorial Hospital.

Transportation- Students and employees who commute to and from the college are provided with transportation services by the college. Most areas of Bangalore, Chickballapur, and Doddaballapur are served by college buses.

Canteen- Students and staff can enjoy a wide variety of delicious, healthful meals prepared in both north and south Indian styles at the NMIT canteen. In addition, the campus is home to several additional dining establishments that include baked goods, fresh fruit juice, and quick snacks.

Gym- A well-equipped, separate gym for boys and girls with a variety of amenities has been constructed on campus for the benefit of the pupils. The Department of Sports is responsible for maintaining the gymnasium, which is available to all NMIT members.

Auditorium and Seminar Hall- There is an outdoor theatre at NMIT that can accommodate 2500 people. The institute also features a state-of-the-art auditorium and seminar halls with plenty of seating, air conditioning, wi-fi, a projector screen, and a sound System.
