The AP PGCET Counselling Process has multiple stage of procedures organized by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) for admission to postgraduate courses in Andhra Pradesh. 

Following is a detailed, step-by-step guide to the AP PGCET counselling process for candidates.

  1. Notification and Counselling Schedule Release:
  • APSCHE releases the official counselling schedule and detailed instructions on the AP PGCET
  • Separate sessions are held for AP PGCET and GATE/GPAT candidates.
  1. Registration and Fee Payment:
  • Candidates must register online for counselling through the official portal.
  • Candidates need to make an online payment for registration. The fee amount can vary depending on the status of a candidate (General/reserved category).
  • Payment is made online via debit/credit card or net banking.
  1. Document Verification:

Candidates are required to carry all essential documents regarding their academic and personal documents for verification process.

Documents Required:

  • AP PGCET/GATE/GPAT admit card and rank card
  • Degree/Provisional certificate and marks memos
  • SSC (Class 10) or equivalent certificate
  • Study/Residence certificate (Class 10 to graduation)
  • Integrated community certificate (for BC/SC/ST)
  • Income certificate
  • Transfer certificate
  • Special category certificates (NCC, CAP, PH, Sports, if applicable).
  1. Choice Filling and Locking:
  • After successful verification, candidates receive login credentials for web options entry.
  • Candidates are required to log in and select their preferred colleges and courses based on their rank and seat availability in respective institutes.

  1. Seat Allotment:

APSCHE generally processes seat allotment based on certain factors that are listed below.

  • Candidate’s rank
  • Preferences filled
  • Seat availability

Allotment results are published on the official website hence candidates will be able to download their seat allotment letter with the help of their credentials.

  1. Reporting to Allotted Institute:
  • Candidates must report to the allotted institute within the stipulated time with:
  • All original documents
  • Seat allotment letter
  • Admission is confirmed after successful verification at the institute and payment of the requisite admission fee.
  1. Subsequent Rounds (if applicable):
  • If seats remain vacant, further rounds (second/final phase) of counselling will be conducted.
  • Candidates who did not get a seat or wish to upgrade can participate in subsequent rounds by following the same process.
