ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

TG TET 2026 (ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA)

The Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test (TG TET) is conducted for candidates aspiring to become teachers for Classes 1 to 8 in Telangana. The eligibility criteria are divided based on the level of teaching: Primary (Classes 1–5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6–8).

 Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Upper Age Limit: No upper age limit specified

Educational Qualification

For Paper 1 (Primary Level: Classes 1–5)

Candidates must fulfill any one of the following:

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Bachelor of Education (Special Education)

For Paper 2 (Upper Primary Level: Classes 6–8)

Candidates must fulfill any one of the following:

  • Graduation (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 1-year Bachelor in Education (Special Education)
  • 4-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories)
  • For Language Teachers: Graduation with the language concerned as an optional subject, or Bachelor of Oriental Language, or Graduation in literature, or Post Graduation in the language concerned, and Language Pandit Training Certificate/B.Ed with the language as one of the methodologies

Additional Notes

  • Candidates appearing in the final year of the required qualification are also eligible to apply.
  • There is no restriction on the number of attempts; candidates can apply as many times as they meet the eligibility criteria
